Sunday, May 31st, 2026, Socializing and Excursions
In the spirit of our old PhD and PostDoc days, we are hosting an informal Sunday gathering and would love to see you there. Join us at GZ Oerlikon (Gubelstrasse 10, 8050 Zurich; https://gz-zh.ch/gz-oerlikon/) anytime between 09:00 and 15:00 for great conversation, networking, and a nostalgic meal together.
True to our roots, we are having a potluck-style lunch. Please bring a dish or drink to share, keeping in mind that shops at Zurich HB and Oerlikon Station are open for any last-minute needs. To help us plan the spread, please add your contribution to this list.
Families are very welcome, and we will have a dedicated kids' table with activities to keep the little ones busy while we catch up. We look forward to seeing you and your families there!
In parallel, you'll also find suggested below a variety of popular destinations in and around Zürich you may wish to visit or revisit, on your own or with friends and family.
Outdoors: forest or city walk, ETH or Uni-Irchel campus stroll, Uetliberg hike, park or playground picnic, lake swim or boat ride, Windisch or Lindenhof Roman settlement visit .
Indoors, in case of rain: Lindt&Sprüngli chocolate factory and museum, Rietberg Museum and Kunsthaus, especially Merzbacher collection and Pippilitti Rist installation, Zentralbibliothek, favorite train or tram rides.
